Our Story

Why We Built BookMyFD

Fixed Deposits remain one of the most trusted investment instruments for millions of Indian families β€” from retired senior citizens to first-time savers. Yet most comparison platforms earn commissions or referral fees, which can create conflicts of interest.

We launched BookMyFD.in with a single goal: give every Indian investor access to honest, up-to-date FD rate comparisons β€” completely free, with no financial incentive to push one product over another.

We cover PSU banks, private banks, small finance banks, and NBFCs in one place. You compare, you calculate, you decide β€” then you book directly with the institution. Simple.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does BookMyFD earn money if it's free? β–Ό
Currently, BookMyFD.in does not earn money from the platform. It is a free public service. We may in the future introduce non-intrusive display advertising, but we will never earn commissions or referrals from FD bookings β€” that is our founding promise.
Are the FD rates on this site accurate? β–Ό
We update rates regularly, but interest rates change frequently. Always verify the current rate on the bank's or NBFC's official website before making any investment decision. We show indicative rates for comparison purposes.
Is my FD safe if I book via BookMyFD? β–Ό
Yes. When you click "Book Now," you go directly to the institution's website. BookMyFD is not a party to your FD contract. Your deposit is held entirely by the bank or NBFC. Bank FDs up to β‚Ή5 lakh are insured by DICGC. NBFC deposits are not DICGC insured.
Do I need to create an account on BookMyFD? β–Ό
No. BookMyFD.in is completely open to use with no login or signup required. We don't collect your personal details.
What is the difference between a bank FD and an NBFC FD? β–Ό
Bank FDs (including small finance banks) are insured by DICGC up to β‚Ή5 lakh per depositor per bank. NBFC deposits typically offer higher interest rates but are not covered by DICGC insurance. NBFCs are regulated by RBI. Assess your risk appetite accordingly before investing in NBFC FDs.
What is Form 15G / 15H? β–Ό
If your FD interest exceeds β‚Ή40,000 per year (β‚Ή50,000 for senior citizens) and your total income is below the taxable limit, you can submit Form 15G (general) or Form 15H (senior citizens) to avoid TDS deduction. Submit this directly to the bank at the start of each financial year.
Can I withdraw my FD early? β–Ό
Most FDs allow premature withdrawal with a penalty, typically 0.5%–1.0% reduction in applicable interest rate. Some tax-saver FDs (5-year lock-in) cannot be withdrawn early. Check the specific terms with the bank before booking.
Why are small finance bank rates higher? β–Ό
Small Finance Banks (SFBs) offer higher FD rates because they need to attract retail deposits to fund their lending operations, primarily to underserved segments. They are regulated by RBI and deposits up to β‚Ή5 lakh are DICGC insured, making them a relatively safe option for higher returns.
